Hunting grows in Zululand area
Chairman of the Zululand Branch, Willem de Valence, explained in his address that the main focus of the Branch is to reach out to all members across Zululand to support ethical hunting and conservation.
THE Zululand Branch of the KZN Hunters and Conservation Association (KZNHCA) held its inaugural meeting at Mkhuze Country Club on Thursday evening.
The meeting was well attended by 23 people.
Chairman of the Zululand Branch, Willem de Valence, explained in his address that the main focus of the Branch is to reach out to all members across Zululand to support ethical hunting and conservation.
‘This is of utmost importance during a time of transformation to ensure that hunting remains sustainable and that it continues to provide animal welfare, management of hunting quotas, wide-ranging conservation objectives and the development of Zululand communities such as Mkhuze,’ said De Valence.
Zululand Branch Committee member, Max Donnoli, pointed out that the Zululand Branch would like to host a Senior Hunters Proficiency Grading Course in Mkhuze this year, as well as focus on developing junior and other hunters in Mkhuze.
The next meeting will take place on 3 March at the Mkhuze Country Club.
Coenie Swanepoel of Zululand Taxidermy will be doing a presentation at the next meeting.
