Jaryd and Mbali smash records
Apollo House claims bragging rights at Felixton College Junior Inter-House gala
FELIXTON College’s Jaryd Holton and Mbali Burnett bettered a record each at the junior inter-house gala held at the Empangeni pool this week.
Not only did they smash records, the two were also awarded the Junior Victor and Victrix Ludorum prizes.
Burnett shattered the junior girls’ individual medley record by just under 7 seconds with a time of 1.39.92. The previous record of 1.47.81 was set in 2010.
Holton made short work of the junior boys individual medley record which stood since 2009, clocking 1.33.50 (previous record 1.44.75).
Apollo House not only took home the House Trophy and bragging rights for 2016, but also the Spirit Trophy.
The winning House notched up 391 points, followed by Neptune on 330 points and Vulcan on 325 points.
Amy Carey took home the Senior Victrix Ludorum prize, with Ryan McNally walking off with the Senior Victor Ludorum award.
