RH Construction uThungulu claimed a 2 wicket victory over Chatsworth United at Addison Park on Sunday in a Premier League clash, which saw the local side leap frog Durban based outfit Crusaders to the top of the log.
This is the sides third consecutive home victory in the new year, which is a great sign for local supporters and the team.
‘We love playing at home in front of our supporters, families and friends. Despite the pitch giving us a home ground advantage, it is always special to look into the grandstand and see your loved ones supporting you,’ said RH Construction uThungulu all-rounder Trevor Kietzmann.
The home team batted first on a dry, hard wicket and managed to post 164/8 in their 50 overs, thanks to a sensational knock of 64 from Jason Redinger.
Chatsworth needed 3.28 runs per over for victory, but fell short at the crease when reaching 162/8 in the 50th over.
Kietzmann 3/46 in 9 aided his side to a well fought victory.
RH Construction uThungulu will take on African Warriors on Sunday at Addison Park in their next fixture.
Action gets underway from 9am.
