Tracking company help police recover stolen vehicle
Various districts teamed up to make thee arrests

A tip-off from a tracking company yielded results after two suspects, aged 30 and 44, were arrested for possession of a stolen motor vehicle on Sunday.
The vehicle, a Toyota Hilux bakkie with Newcastle registration plates, had been reported stolen in Madadeni and a tracking device located it Nongoma.
Empangeni Flying Squad was alerted and the Vryheid K9 together with Ulundi K9 Unit members proceeded to the location.
The suspects fled the scene when approached and a chase ensued. Police managed to apprehend the suspects in the nearby bush and recover the stolen vehicle. Both men were charged for possession of stolen property and linked to a case of theft of a motor vehicle.
‘We are squeezing in on crime and that is our core mandate. With the help of our community we are definitely closing in on criminals,’ said KwaZulu Natal Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni.
The suspects appeared in the Nongoma Magistrates’ Court on Monday. Officials have yet to release information regarding the outcome of the case.
