A touch of Dutch expertise at Grantleigh

Local hockey players put through their paces at clinic

ZULULAND school hockey players of all ages were put through their paces by hockey coach Sake Hermans at the second annual Greenfields Princess Dutch hockey clinic at Grantleigh Schools over the past weekend.

Hermans, from Harlem in the Netherlands, focused on numerous skills drills which were then incorporated in friendly matches.

Grantleigh’s Danielle van Onselen was awarded the Girls Player of the Clinic award, with fellow schoolmate Keagan Smith picking up the Male Player of the Clinic award.

Felixton College’s Aimee Mittermayer walked away with the Most Valuable Girl Player award, with Tristan Fernandes, also of Felixton, earning the Most Valuable Boy Player award.

Jess Bennet (girl) and Jens Otto (boy) were rewarded with the Most Improved Player awards respectively.

Little Rocco Klomfaas took home the Future Coach of Sportwaves award.
