Wet, wild and wonderful racing

Rain made racing very difficult at the Five Ways racetrack

SATURDAY night’s racing at Five Ways Racetrack in Richards Bay, had to be postponed until Sunday with a hope of improvement in weather.

Although the track was reasonably dry, a quick downpour in between heats quickly added puddles of excitement.

Racing went off without incident, but the Hotrod and Super Saloon Classes were a thrill to watch as the guys tried to keep the power down in a straight line.

Robert Snayman had an excellent first meeting in the 1600b class whilst the second Stockrod race between Charlien Potgieter and Matthew Burgess, can be described as the race of the day.

Boetie Van Tonder had a wonderful return to the podium claiming third place behind Okkert Brits and Neville Loosemore.

As the Ninja Midget class continues to grow, the youngsters will have their hands full in an ever competitive class.

Quarter Midget racing will be back with an almost new field at the next meeting.
