Bending rods in Zululand

Great catches reported along Zululand shoreline

OWING to the perfect summer weather conditions of late, local fisherman could not resist the urge to load their tackle and bait boxes before heading down to the beaches along the Zululand shoreline ‘om ‘n lyntjie nat te maak’.

With large schools of various species of edible and inedible fish being spotted in Zululand waters, great catches have been recorded.

Some popular spots that seem to be reaping reward are Mtunzini beach, the short pier in Richards Bay, Hlabane and Port Durnford.

With KZN Ezemvelo Wildlife on a mission, all anglers are warned to contain the correct licences to avoid confiscation of catches, goods and hefty fines.

Owing to decreasing fish populations, fisherman are urged to tag and release undersized fish and game fish.
