Grandstand tribute

Moving farewell for Empangeni Rugby Football Club stalwart Hugh Moore.

SCORES of locals gathered at Mick Kelly Park on Friday afternoon to bid a final farewell to Empangeni Rugby Football Club stalwart Hugh Moore.

Hugh passed away in the UK at the end of last year after bravely battling with ill health.

A former Natal rugby player and for many years a player, coach and committee member at Empangeni, he was also well known in business circles as the owner of Tiger Pumps.

The memorial ‘celebration of life’ service combined a spiritual message with a number of apt and humorous tributes paid by friends from the rugby fraternity, and by family members.
