Police find takkies cache at Manguzi

23 pairs of Nike takkies, 15 pairs of All Star takkies and 129 pairs of Adidas were recovered.

TWO suspects aged 34 and 36 were arrested at Thengani area, Manguzi for possession of counterfeit goods.
The accused were arrested on the 6 January, by the Durban Flying Squad Narcotics Task Team, who were doing their operational duties in the area.
The police then received information about a vehicle which was carrying counterfeit goods in the area of Manguzi. Spotting the car with two occupants inside, the members stopped it.
On searching it, they found sacks full of the illegal goods. 23 pairs of Nike takkies, 15 pairs of All Star takkies and 129 pairs of Adidas were recovered.

The two suspects were then arrested and charged with possession of counterfeit goods. The suspects appeared at the Kwangwanase Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday).

The KZN Police Provincial Commissioner Lt Gen Mmamonnye Ngobeni commended the members on the arrest of the suspects, and the recovery of the fake items.
‘We are closing the net on all criminal elements within our province,’ Ngobeni said.
