Felixton College pupils rake in the A’s

Felixton College again celebrates a 100% pass rate for their matrics this year

FELIXTON College again celebrates a 100% pass rate for their matrics this year, with just over 80% earning university exemption.

Following hot on the heels of Zululand and Felixton’s top matriculant Murray Louw, four other IEB pupils from Felixton performed exceptionally.

They are:

Ali Taqvi

Ali earned 5 A’s for accounting, dramatic art, English, life orientation and mathematics.

He will be attending the University of Cape Town to study medicine, following in his father’s footsteps.

‘It was a really good year,’ he said. ‘I’m really excited, but this year just whizzed past. But it was great.’

Laura Hunt

Laura managed to fit in her studies with her busy schedule as headgirl, earning herself four A’s – and just missing out on three more.

She is off to the University of Pretoria to study teaching after earning a distinction for maths, life orientation, life science and geogrpahy.

‘I am looking forward to varsity. I want to be a maths and history teacher for the intermediate phase.

‘This year was definitely difficult to manage everything and find a balance, but fortunately I managed to do it. I am really happy.’

Ruben Kok

With a grand total of 6 A’s, Ruben is really happy to be on his way to Stellenbosch to study mechanical engineering.

‘I have a real passion for mechanics. It has really been an excellent year, and I’m extremely happy with the outcome.’

Ruben earned A’s for Afrikaans, engineering graphic, life orientation, life science, mathematics and physical science.

Tayla Beaumont

After earning 5 A’s for English, geography, life orientation, life science and mathematical literacy, Tayla will be headed to the University of Cape Town to study law.

‘It might sound like a cliché, but I have a real passion for justice,’ she said.

According to Tayla time management was key to a successful result.

‘It was possibly my favourite year in high school. I won’t say I didn’t stress at all. Making time to relax and not overwork kept me sane!’

All of the pupils expressed their thanks to their teachers and parents for supporting them on their journey.
