Awards for equestrian achievers
Dayspring Equestrian Centre annual awards dinner.
A SUCCESSFUL year was celebrated with outstanding achievements being recognised at the Dayspring Equestrian Centre annual awards dinner.
Recently hosted at the Canefields Country House, trophies and awards were handed out to a number of top riders.
Special gratitude was extended to all the people who helped in re-building the new stable block after last year’s fire.
The following riders received trophies

Aiden Ungerer and Dakotah Howes – Most Improved Riders (10 and under)
Amelie Eaglen – Most Improved Rider (11 – 13 years)
Erin Ungerer – Most Dedicated Rider
Olivia Johnson – Most Promising Rider (10 and under)
Ava Eaglen – Most Promising Rider (11 and over)
Madeleine Colton – Best Encourager
Fergus Davidson – Most Improved Rider (high school)
Erin Ungerer – Most Spectacular Fall
Ava Eaglen – Most Courageous Rider
Kelly Ervine – Best Overall Primary School Rider
Sheynlee Swart – Best overall High School Rider
Jessica Johnson – Dayspring Ambassador of 2015
Kelly Ervine – Highest Achiever in Primary School
Jaydene Hattingh – Rider’s Rider of the Year
• The following riders received awards for being selected for the KZN schools team – Ava Eaglen, Jessica Johnson, Amelie Eaglen, Dakotah Howes, Olivia Johnson and Kelly Ervine.
• The following riders from Grantleigh School were awarded the KZN team’s Victor Ludorum trophy for the most points accrued during the season – Kelly Ervine, Ava Eaglen, Jessica Johnson, Olivia Johnson and Amelie Eaglen.
• Kelly Ervine won the individual Victor Ludorum for riders in KZN during the SANESA season and was the runner-up Victor Ludorum at the SANESA Nationals.
• The Grantleigh Schools team of Ava Eaglen, Amelie Eaglen, Jessica Johnson, Olivia Johnson and Kelly Ervine scored the most points for schools in KZN on the SANESA circuit. They accumulated more than 25 000 points, with the second placed school (Lucas Meyer Laerskool in Vryheid) on 12 200 points.
