THE uMhlathuze Muncipality has placed a ban on alcohol at seven popular recreational zones in Richards Bay.
Beach-goers will not be allowed to take booze onto the following beaches; Alkantstrand, Bay Hall, Palm Beach, Soetwater, Two Mile, Kleiklip Klofie and Five Mile Beach.
This was initiated in an effort to stop the dangerous and destructive behaviour of revelers.
Additional staff has also been employed to assist with the cleaning up of the respective areas.
