A MUNICIPAL-employed traffic officer in Mtubatuba was yesterday (Thursday) arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition while conducting a routine roadblock.
According to Mtubatuba SAPS, they acted on a tip-off and approached the officer just after 7.30am.
On searching the officer, he was found to be in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
He was arrested and later released on R1 500 bail.
