Praise for Richards Bay police response

We need to be grateful to the men and women that serve our community writes JOHAN BORAIN

I would like to express my gratitude for the excellent service I received from the Richards Bay SAPS officers in the early morning hours of Friday 4 December.

I am fully aware that police in the line of duty hardly ever receive any compliments for their outstanding work but I feel, today I need to thank the men and ladies in blue for the outstanding work.

On Friday morning my unit in Hadeda Park, Via Cassiandra was burgled and several items were stolen.

I contacted the police station at 2.45am and within 20 minutes the first vehicle arrived at our place with two officers and 10 minutes later the second vehicle arrived and officers took statements while the first group secured the surrounding area and patrolled the greenbelt.

After 7am, two senior officers also arrived to assess the situation and about 30 minutes later the fingerprint team was there, ready to start.

By 9am on Friday morning, everything was done.

We need to be grateful to the men and women that serve our community and acknowledge the outstanding work they do – not just sit back and criticise and complain.

Richards Bay SAPS team, you are the best and I trust you will keep up the excellent work in our community.

JOHAN BORAIN
