Man critical after Pelican Island near drowning
He was taken to hospital and is believed to be in a stable condition.

A MAN in his 40s is in a serious but stable condition after nearly drowning at Pelican Island in Richards Bay yesterday afternoon.
According to Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha, paramedics arrived on scene to find that bystanders had pulled the man out of the water.
‘After examining him they found that he was suffering from severe near drowning symptoms,’ he said.
It is believed the man was breathing by himself but was unconscious.
After being stabilised on scene, he was taken to Ngwelezana Hospital by KZN EMS.
