WITH a reserve price of R60-million, the eShowe Mall, which went under the hammer at the Durban International Convention Centre on Thursday, was not sold.

Of the six potential buyers, there was only one offer of R30-million made to purchase, but this was not accepted.

Meanwhile, the new mall to be built by Mc Cormick Property Developers between the eShowe town and King Dinizulu suburb, next to the Siza garage, is going ahead.

The 13 355m² first phase of the development is expected to be completed by September next year.

According to the Mc Cormick Property Developer’s website, the anchor tenants will be Shoprite.

Other retailers include Shoprite Liquor, Truworths, Clicks, Capitec Bank and Foschini.
