Double trouble in Poorun family

THE ‘lethal’ brother duo of Aaryan and Rudhra Poorun were at it again, dominating at a recent taekwondo tournament, which saw Aaryan claim four medals and Rudhra one, with both brothers making the SA team.

Ten-year-old Aaryan who has his purple belt achieved the following results –

• 11 and under Advanced blue to black belt category

Silver medal for creative weapons (invite to SA team to go to USA).

Bronze medal in creative form (invite to SA team to go to USA).

Bronze medal for continuous fighting (invite to SA team to go to USA).

Bronze medal for points sparring (invite to SA team to go to USA).

• 11 and under Intermediate purple to blue belt category

Fourth place finish for traditional Kata.

Sixth place finish for traditional weapons Kata.

Seven-year-old Rudhra who has a yellow belt achieved the following results –

• 11 and under beginner to intermediate white to green belt category

Fourth place in creative weapons (invite to SA team to go to USA).

Sixth place in creative form.

• 11 and under intermediate belt category

Fifth place in traditional Kata (invite to SA team to go to USA).

Sixth place for traditional weapons Kata.

• 9 and under open belt

Fourth place for continuous fighting (invite to SA team to go to USA).

Bronze medal for points sparring (invite to SA team to go to USA).
