GALLERY: Four injured in Main Road smash
Four people have been taken to hospital after a taxi and a BMW collided in Empangeni.
FOUR people were injured after the taxi they were travelling in collided with a BMW at the intersection of Main Road and Turnbull Road in central Empangeni this afternoon.
The accident occurred around 4.30pm, creating a small backlog of traffic.
Fortunately, City of uMhlathuze traffic police happened to pass the scene minutes after the crash, and were able to immediately direct traffic flow.
It is believed the driver of the BMW was attempting to turn right onto Turnbull Road when the taxi crashed into him.
All four injured patients were taken to hospital for further treatment.
