THE badly decomposed body of the 14-year-old Madlanzini boy who drowned at Lake Mzingazi on Saturday was retrieved by police divers at about 1pm today.
Sanele Mhlongo’s body was discovered, by community members in the reeds close to the Richards Bay Country Club.
‘We were waiting for the SAPS chopper from Durban to do an overhead search, but when it was just 20 minutes away, the body was discovered,’ said WO Waldo Herbst.
The body was taken aboard the police dive boat across to the Madlanzini side of the lake where scores of people had gathered.
