Zululand Diwali Festival heads to Brackenham

The Zululand Diwali Festival commemorates its 20th anniversary this year at the Brackenham Sports Grounds on 6 and 7 November.

THE Zululand Diwali Festival commemorates its 20th anniversary this year and, to mark the celebrations, the two day extravaganza takes place at the Brackenham Sports Grounds on 6 and 7 November.

Chairperson, Dazzil Reddy has promised another show stopping and spectacular event, which will showcase and promote local talent, a variety of Eastern entertainment, prominent show bands, fireworks display, stalls, beauty pageants and much more.

The festival is a popular entertainment event for most Zululanders who prefer to enjoy the celebration in Richards Bay as opposed to travelling to shows out of the region.

Over the years it has attracted thousands of guests across different race groups and communities.

‘The committee needs the support of individuals, businesses and the corporate sector to ensure the fruition of a successful function.

‘Our aim is to promote social cohesion and educate the masses about the various cultures which constitute our country.

‘With the upcoming main event, we once again encourage the public to participate and share their ideas with the committee,’ said Reddy.
