Road closure alert at port

Stop-and-go's start at Dune Road Extension at the Port of Richards Bay.

PORT users will this week be rerouted from the Dune Road Extension as civil work begins to rehabilitate the section.

The Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) said construction will stretch from the Richards Bay Coal Terminal’s (RBCT) back gate to the terminal’s main gate between Tuesday and 26 October.

Road works will entail replacing the existing asphalt surface and rehabilitating the road layer works.

Temporary traffic signs and a ‘stop-go’ system will be used to control the traffic while work continues on each lane.

‘Road users are requested to make use of the road signs and the flag persons on the road,’ advised TNPA.
