How to stop videos playing automatically on Facebook

4 easy steps to switch off the videos on your Facebook news feed.

HAVE you recently noticed that as soon as you hover over a Facebook video, or go past it on your home page it starts playing?

If auto-play is On, videos will auto-play using a mobile data connection. The data used depends on the amount of time you spend watching a video. If you scroll past an auto-play video in News Feed, your phone will use less data than if you stop to watch it for a longer period of time.

There’s a way to switch this off. Follow these easy steps:

1. Go to settings (top right)

2. Click on videos

3. Click on Auto play videos

Drop down box is automatically set to default.

4. Change it to “Off”
