THE police has increased its visibility at the R66/R34 intersection at Nkwaleni following a spate of hijackings in the area.
Motorist are warned to be vigilant when approaching the intersection.
Reports of vehicle hijackings have been received during the past week.
Motorist are particularly vulnerable when they slow down at the speed humps on the R66 as they approach the stop sign, or when they are stationery behind other vehicles.
The drivers are approached by armed men on foot, who force them out of their vehicles.
