POLICE are currently searching for two government vehicles that were hijacked today just after 2pm at the eShowe, Melmoth intersection on the R34.
Police and traffic units are chasing down both vehicles which are white double-cab Toyota Hilux bakkies.
A Department of Agriculture vehicle, registration KZN 36800 and a Department of Sports and Recreation vehicle registration KZN 77075 were taken.
Both vehicles have their respective departments stickers on the doors.
Details regarding the suspects are unclear at this stage.
According to sources close to the investigation, as many as 9 vehicles have been hijacked since Friday in Nkwaleni, Kwambonambi and Empangeni.
