Thanda ready for tough AmaZulu derby

Thanda fit to fight for points

HAVING come from 3-0 behind to draw their first NFD match 3-3, Thanda Royal Zulu FC coach Thami Ngubane believes the future looks good for his young charges.

This as they regroup and prepare to take on the mighty Usuthu at the uMhlathuze Stadium on Saturday.

‘In fact, Mbombela scored all their goals in the first 15 minutes – twice on the break – and from then on we took over totally.

‘Playing in front of a large and hostile home crowd, they were an unknown quantity, and we thus had no prepared tactics. Once we worked them out, we were fine,’ Ngubane told the Zululand Observer on Tuesday.

‘There is lots of room for improvement but what the first game did show was that the boys have character and a high level of fitness.

‘There are a few areas where we might need reinforcements but we will soldier on with what we have.

‘It will take at least five games to really assess where we are but I am positive not only that we will pick up plenty of points but that we will also provide the league’s top goal scorer once again.’

Kick-off on Saturday is at 3pm and Amabhubesi will hope for a crowded house as they try to take down the relegated PSL outfit and move into the top half of the table.
