THREE men, aged between 18 and 20 years old were arrested after the body of a woman was found in a grave in Emanguzi near Kosi Bay.
Thandazile Mpunzi had been strangled and chopped into pieces before she was buried in a shallow grave.
The 20-year-old woman was reported missing on 5 August
The police and the community members worked around the clock searching for the victim but to no avail.
‘Yesterday, police got information that led to the arrest of the suspects. The woman’s body was exhumed and a murder case opened at Emanguzi police station,’ said police spokesman, Major Thulani Zwane.
The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage.
Meanwhile, Sifiso Gumede (42) will make his second court appearance in the Esikhawini Magistrate’s Court tomorrow after he was charged with murdering his girlfriend and burning her body at a Port Dunford forest in Esikhawini earlier this month.
