Entrepreneur competition ready to go
The Chamber’s annual entrepreneur competition will begin later this month.

THE 2015 Zululand entrepreneur competition is ready to begin later this month and local business owners are encouraged to enter.
Hosted by the Zululand Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZCCI), the competition is aimed at affording SMMEs the opportunity to develop and enhance their business skills, as well as to promote their corporate identities.
An independent panel of local professionals will select 20 finalists from all the applicants and they will move on to complete an eight-week training programme.
The successful candidates will be mentored on the various business disciplines, which will also include one-on-one tutoring from successful business owners and retired corporate experts.
‘This competition offers a fantastic avenue for entrepreneurs to access training, mentorship and the opportunity to advance their businesses,’ said ZCCI President Judith Nzimande.
In addition to the various sponsored prizes up for grabs, a cash prize of R55 000 will be split between the top three winners.
These top three Zululand entrepreneurs will then proceed to the national round and compete against the winners of seven other Chambers.
How to enter
For applicants to be considered, they must own a business older than a year and have a turnover of less than R3-million.
Individuals can pick up an entry form at the uThungulu Municipality and Mhlathuze Municipality offices, The Boardwalk Inkwazi Shopping Centre, University of Zululand Richards Bay campus and various Umfolozi TVET College branches, including eShowe.
Entry forms are also available at the Zululand Observer offices.
