WATCH: Canal dug to stop river overflowing
A large front-end loader was used to dig a canal from the river to the sea, to prevent flooding
A FRONT-END loader was brought in on Friday afternoon to open a canal into the sea at Umlalazi River Mouth in Mtunzini.
The river was threatening to burst its banks after consistent rain fell over the course of last week.
