AWOL mobilises forces in the City

AWOL Teens on a mission to clean up the streets of Empangeni.

A WORKFORCE of energetic, motivated teenagers deployed in the City on Thursday at the kick-off of the annual AWOL (A Work Of Love) camp held at Heuwelland Primary School in Empangeni.

The youth camp is aimed at building relationships between the teenagers, the community in which they live and local Christian churches, while cleaning up the City and giving some neglected areas a facelift.

Their mission is to be the hands and feet of God and demonstrate His love in a practical way, while having fun and making memories with old and new friends.

Pastor Caroline Pitout of AGS Kerk Sonder Mure and the Freedom Generation SA was the guest speaker on Thursday, empowering her young audience with the message that God has a dream and a purpose for each life.

AWOL celebrates the unity of different churches in Christ and a collective effort to make a positive difference to the community.
