A 72-year-old eShowe estate agent, Jean Myburg, survived an attack which could have taken her life on Thursday.
Myburg met with a potential buyer at a house in Poynton Place at around 11am.
They entered the house and while Myburg was walking down the passage, the man came from behind and grabbed her around the neck and strangled her until she lost consciousness.
She woke up lying on the bathroom floor of the house and could not move.
After an hour she managed to get up and activated the alarm, as all the doors were locked.
The security company and police came to her assistance and eventually managed to obtain keys for the house.
Myburg’s White Toyota Corolla, NES 6192, was missing from the driveway as well as her handbag and cell phone which she left in the vehicle.
Her attacker is about 30 years old, short and slightly build.
He is still at large and the police are requesting any information to assist in the arrest of the man.
