Soccer champions of uThungulu
EHS beat Tholokuhle High School 5-4 on penalties in the final match to snatch their first title.
EMPANGENI High School’s (EHS) first team boys soccer team shot their way to the uThungulu District Sanlam Kay Motsepe title on Saturday at the uMhlathuze Regional Sports Complex.

A total of 24 teams competed on the day with, among others, Gwejobomvu, Ikhandlela, Mningi, Welabasha, Masakhane, Bhekikusasa, Mgitshwa and Balondo all in action.
‘It was great to see the amount of local talent showcased on the day and to see EHS lifting their first title,’ said PRO of uThungulu Schools Sports, Mblasoloi Mthenjwa.
‘We wish EHS all the best at the Provincial Sanlam Kay Motsepe tournament in September, where they will represent the uThungulu District, and we will support and back them all the way.’
