It might serve your readers better if your journalist enquired with Childline when they submitted their application and why, if they knew of their financial difficulties, they did not follow the guidelines of the National Lotteries Board (NLB) and submit their application as early as possible.
The fact that they submitted it just before the deadline and are now towards the end of the queue, should not be blamed on the NLB.
