Rhinos crusade nosedives
Rhinos 1 and 2 will take on Amamzintoti in Amamzintoti this Saturday.
BOTH the Rhinos 1 and 2 sides suffered mediocre defeats against the Durbanite Crusaders outfits at Mick Kelly Park on Saturday in a Castle Premier league encounter.
In the first team clash, the home side dominated the scrums, line-outs and breakdowns in the first half, which resulted in an early 16-3 lead.
The Rhinos points came from three penalties and one conversion from captain Jors Dannhauser, and a try from scrumhalf Dirk de Waal.
But the number of missed tackles in the second half let the visitors back into the game.
The Crusaders points flowed freely, resulting in a final score of 32-16.
The static, slow play in the home team’s backline made defending too easy for the opposition.
In the second team clash earlier in the day, the visitors ran out 39-27 victors after the Rhinos ran out of gas with 20 minutes to go.
Rhinos 1 and 2 will take on Amamzintoti in Amamzintoti on Saturday.
Kick-off for the second team is at 2pm, followed by the first team at 3:30pm.
