Early childhood development supported

The Department of Sports and Recreation donated a jungle gym at Khanyakude Creche in eMadlanzini.

TO promote healthy and active minds among youngsters, the Department of Sports and Recreation (DSR) donated a jungle gym to the Khanyakude Crèche in Madlanzini last week.

This was a joint venture with the City of uMhlathuze, who initially donated R150 000 towards the construction of the school building.

According to DSR representative Nonhlanhla Ndlela, the gesture was in line with the ‘Learn and play’ programme, which aims to assist with learning.

‘This is to support early childhood development, where we encourage games as part of learning. This helps children and prepare their minds,’ she said.

The gym includes two swings, a slide, puzzles and other games.
