A MBAZWANA woman was arrested on Saturday for allegedly chopping her newborn baby to death shortly after giving birth.
According to a SAPS statement, the 24-year-old woman was reported to have given birth to the baby girl at about 11pm on Saturday in KwaMnyandu near Mbazwana.
Shortly thereafter she allegedly killed the infant.
The suspect was arrested at Mseleni Hospital where she had reportedly confessed her actions to a doctor.
