Thanda need to win remaining games

NFD goes down to the wire.

AFTER yet another weekend of topsy-turvy results, a clearer picture has emerged of the likely contenders for promotion from the National First Division to the top flight PSL.

Thanda Royal Zulu are looking good in that picture, and hold the prospect of promotion squarely in their own hands.

Golden Arrows, with 49 points and a game in hand, occupy prime position ahead of the chasing pack comprising Jomo Cosmos (46), Thanda (44), Cape Town All Stars (44) and Black Leopards (41).

But here’s the thing: with four matches left, Amabhusi will play both Golden Arrows (29 April home) and Cosmos (3 May away) in the final sprint – and they have beaten both sides already this season.

A repeat performance along with expected wins against African Warriors away this Saturday and Garankuwa in the final fixture at home on 10 May will see Thanda in the play-off top three at least, and possibly in first place and automatic promotion.

The 4-1 drilling of FC Cape Town last time out augers well for the final countdown!
