Two arrested in weapons sweep

Sharp SAPS Sea Borderline Control unit intercept firearms.

DILIGENT effort by the Small Craft Harbour-based SAPS Sea Borderline Control unit saw two weapons recovered and two suspects arrested last week.

In an information-driven action, the team swooped on two separate locations in the Mtubatuba area, one at Mfekayi and the other at Nkonjani.

At both places, .38 Special revolvers were found, one with 26 rounds of ammunition and the other with five rounds.

The weapons will be sent for ballistics testing to see if they are linked to any crimes.
