Ladies, has your constant attempts to change some of your guy's ways left you feeling like a complete failure?
WHETHER it’s the food he eats or the clothes he wears, there is no denying that at some point in the relationship you try to change the awesome men we’ve grown up to become.
To spare you disappointment, here are some of the main traits your not-so-subtle attempts will never get right.
The toilet seat
For years, this has been one of the most common pet peeves for women. Unless you have a voice recording installed to remind your guy to put the seat down after he flushes, chances are things won’t change. Besides, we can reverse this issue by posing the question to you – why don’t you lift the seat up for us, huh?
Looking at other girls
Walking in public with your girlfriend will forever be a challenge for most guys. Whether it be in a mall, central town or even in church – yes, church – you convince yourselves that we constantly admire other females. The truth of the matter is that we are visual creatures, so if something catches our eye, yes we are going to look. But that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten the fact that we are in a relationship. Emotionally, we are attached to you, so relax.
Video games
You know how you always wanted to become a famous supermodel growing up, but that dream flew out the window the minute you packed on those extra kilos. Well, we always wanted to be a super sportsman, but that never happened. A game of Fifa or Call of Duty allows us to escape this harsh reality for a while, and turn into the heroes that we always ever dreamed of becoming – in the same way those Instagram filters make you believe you can still sign a modelling agent.
Being late
If you tell us to pick you up at 6pm and we arrive half an hour later, trust me, there is a valid reason for this. We avoid the whole ‘hurry up and wait’ process. Here’s the thing, when we do stick to being punctual, you make us sit and wait for you while you apply your makeup, change outfits for the 100th time, or run to the toilet one last time (as if we are taking you back to the stone ages where toilets are an unknown phenomenon).
Sick baby
Whether we were hit by a car or have just come down with a common cold, our reaction to both will be the same. We think we are dying and act as though our worlds are coming to an end. Science confirms that men behave like babies when they are sick, and you know we don’t argue with science. If you want to know more, Google it.
