German exchange students coming to town
German exchange students head to Empangeni for two-week programme.
EMPANGENI High School (EHS) is gearing up as 21 German students and four leaders make their way to Empangeni for a two-week exchange programme.
A programme run for 24 years by local resident Schalk Smuts, the students will be given the opportunity to experience our culture, school programme and politics to give them a good taste of South Africa.
The students will be officially welcomed by Cllr Mbatha at a Mayoral welcoming function on Saturday.
They will be hosted by EHS parents during their stay.
A full itinerary awaits the group to show off KZN hospitality, scenery and heritage sites.
Among other venues, a number of Aids orphanages in the area will be visited.
EHS pupils will be participating in the exchange programme next year.
