THERE are various innovative ideas for successful fund-raising, but Rotary Empangeni excelled themselves last Friday night when they effortlessly and with great hilarity and enjoyment presented their Empangeni Rotary Music Trivia at the Amble Inn, Empangeni.
Their efforts were aimed at supplying dictionaries for less fortunate Grade 8 pupils.
Quiz Master Dave Savides and DJ Keith Eaton set the tune for rowdy participation by the 150 guests, who shamelessly did not hesitate to bribe, cajole or cheat to be declared the winners.
Adding to the happy vibe, popular entertainer Jaco van der Walt gave a beautiful rendering of Footloose, while Michelle Victor had the crowd on their feet doing the Macarena with great gusto.

But the overall winners were the Empangeni Rotary Club and the guests whose compassion and generosity contributed R14 900 toward the education of our youth.
