TWENTY-one-year-old Nomvula Ntsele was murdered in cold blood late last night outside a petrol station near the Hluhluwe Rugby Club.
Just after 10pm, eyewitnesses saw Ntsele, who is from Mbazwana, sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle with two men, thought to be her friends.
The man sitting directly behind Ntsele allegedly accidentally shot her in the back of the head. She died instantly.
Police were notified and the suspect was arrested at the scene.
It is unclear why the suspect had the firearm in his possession, which, on further investigation, was deemed unlicensed.
The suspect is being detained at Hluhluwe Police Station and a case of murder and the possession of an unlicensed firearm have been opened.
He is due to appear at Hluhluwe Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (Tuesday).
