ACTIVE CPF member, Willie Gumede was shot and killed at his homestead in KwaJobe, Jozini yesterday.
The motive of this attack is unknown and a case of murder has been opened by the Jozini police.
KZN MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Willies Mchunu expressed shock and disgust and this heinous murder.
‘This is, indeed disturbing and should be strongly condemned by all peace loving people.
‘Gumede had volunteered his time to serve his people and be part of the movement against crime.
‘That he is murdered in such a brutal and callous manner is totally abhorrent and disappointing.
‘We call upon anyone with information as to who might be responsible for this to share it with the police so that the suspects can be swiftly brought to book,’ urged Mchunu.
Mchunu also extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of Gumede, his friends and colleagues in the CPF.
