Not smelling like roses

IN Meerensee, 100m from the NG Kerk in the green space located between Anglers Rod, Krewelkring and Grunter Gully, a sewage inspection plate has been overflowing for weeks.

It is just behind the wall of a bed and breakfast establishment and several private properties.

Besides a sickening stench of raw sewage continuously floating in the air around the neighbourhood, there is a very real public health risk – who knows what diseases float around in that muck.

We have called the municipality four or five times to report the problem, but I have the impression that they do not even understand what I am talking about, or what the big deal is, and of course, nobody has shown up to sort out the mess.

What a good show of municipality employees’ inefficiency.
