My husband sat up until midnight, helping to do my high school daughter’s project, after a full day at the office.

She did not even know which topic he chose for her.

My daughter is not lazy or slack in her school work but she is of average academic ability and is also expected to do sports.

I have to help our younger daughter every day because she gets so much homework that she cannot do it by herself.

If anything is not done, the children get detention.

We chase from pillar to post between work, after hours activities, grocery shopping, dinner and admin.

Both my husband and I are working because we can’t afford not to.

When we get home exhausted, we sit with projects and tasks.

Our house is a war zone – I usually end up screaming and one or both the kids in tears.

What is the point of homework and tasks if the parents do it for the children?

It is doing more harm than good.
