Boy (9) murdered in Melmoth

Mystery surrounds the death of a boy who was found lying in a yard in Mfanefile Reserve.

A NINE-year-old boy, with stab wounds to his head was found lying in a yard in the Mfanefile reserve near Melmoth on Wednesday.

Amahle Zulu had several cuts on his forehead and was barely alive.

The child was found in Bhekokwakhe Mhlongo’s garden after he heard his dogs barking at about 5.30am.

He found the young boy lying on the ground without a shirt.

Mhlongo did not recognise the boy and called the local councillor who identified him.

Young Amahle died on the scene before he could get medical help.

Melmoth SAPS have opened a murder case.

At this stage, no one has been arrested and it is unknown what Amahle was doing at Mhlongo’s homestead.
