THE Ulundi Public Order Police, Ulundi K9 Unit and Ulundi Crime Intelligence Unit arrested four suspects, aged between 16 and 61, for the possession of unlicensed firearms.
They were arrested in the Dongothule and Matsheketshe areas outside Nongoma on Thursday, 22 January at 2am.
A .303 rifle with 77 live rounds of ammunition, a 9mm pistol with six live rounds and ammunition for a .38 special were seized.
The firearms will be taken for ballistic testing to establish if they were used in the commission of any criminal activities in the country.
The arrested suspects were due to appear in the Nongoma Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 26 January.
