The positive side of load shedding

I WAS sitting in the lounge busy on my phone when the power went off.

At first I thought, ‘there we go again’, but I’d already cleaned the house, so what now?

So I sat for a moment and just listened to the silence – no electronic hum, no buzzing from the fridges and freezer, just silence.

It felt good not rushing to do anything. Just a break of a few hours before madness kicked in again.

So sometimes I think load shedding is a thumbs-up. It’s a break from all the rush that we live in.
