Yesterday, Eskom’s planned maintenance as well as unplanned outages resulted in the implementation of stage 2 load shedding.
What originally started as stage 1 load shedding, quickly deteriorated to stage 2 in the afternoon.
According to an Eskom statement, it had to go into stage 1 load shedding from 11am as a result of system constraints and unforeseen technical problems at its power stations.
Load shedding moved from stage 1 to stage 2 at 3pm and continued until 10pm.
Zululanders can expect more load shedding this week as Eskom’s forecast shows a lack of capacity for the required demand.
