POLICE said they received an anonymous call at 4:30am on the day Ikhandlela Combined School former deputy principal Douglas Msizi Mkhwanazi died.
His burnt body was found inside his car between KwaDlangezwa crossroads and N2 highway on Sunday morning.
According to Mtunzini SAPS spokesman, Lt Sibusiso Guma, Mkhwanazi was burnt beyond recognition, and his bakkie was totally burnt out.
‘At the moment we still don’t know what happened but we are investigating the matter,’ said uMthunzini SAPS spokesperson Lt Sibusiso Guma.
A case of murder has been opened.
Mkhwanazi had recently been appointed as principal of eMjabuliseni High School.
His colleagues and friends described him as a friendly person who loved education.
