Photo club shoots into 2015
Super snappers start new year in top form.
THE first Beachcombers Photography Club meeting of the year saw many entries of high quality submitted – both in the Theme (Wildlife) and Open categories.
Theme winner with his amazing ‘Hanging Around’ insect close-up was Nobby Clarke, while best Open entry went to Kobus Maree for his awesome portrayal of rhino in the wild, entitled ‘New Hope’.
With most points on the night, Hein Beukes was adjudged Best Junior.
Certificates of Merit went to:
• Open category – ‘High and Bright’ by Hendrik Louw, ‘Last Frontier’ by Daryl Visser, ‘Walter Sisulu’ by Nobby Clarke and ‘Yummy Swiss Roll’ by Hein Beukes.
• Theme category – ‘Banana Bat’ by Hendrik Louw and ‘The Palmnut Pose’ by Sias van Schalkwyk.
The next club meeting will take place on 3 February at the NSRI base, next to the Zululand Yacht Club in Richards Bay, with the theme ‘Monochrome’.
Induction for new members starts at 6.30pm, and the club meeting is at 7pm sharp.
